What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is an innovative method to create a better smile by aligning your teeth. You wear a series of clear plastic removable aligners that gently move you into a new smile. The aligners are clear and fit snugly, which makes them virtually invisible.
Before we even start, we can show you a computer simulation that visualises your treatment plan, and you can see it change right before your eyes.
Not everyone is suitable for Invisalign, but we can treat a number of different conditions using our clear aligners. To assess if you are suitable for Invisalign, we are happy to arrange a consultation where we can answer all of your questions, and if you’re one of the few that are not suitable, we can suggest alternatives to get you that fantastic smile another way.

Conditions that may be treated with Invisalign clear aligners

Overcrowded teeth
This occurs when there’s simply a lack of room within your jaw for all of your teeth to fit normally. When left untreated, overly crowded teeth can lead to plaque accumulation, tooth decay and an increased chance of gum disease.

Widely spaced teeth
The opposite of overcrowded teeth, widely spaced teeth occur when you have extra space within your jaw due to small-sized teeth, abnormal growth of the jawbones, genetics, missing teeth, and/or tongue protrusion. Missing teeth causes the surrounding teeth to shift due to the extra space, creating gaps in your teeth that can lead to gum problems (due to a lack of protection by the teeth), periodontal pockets, and increased risk of periodontal disease.

Crossbite
This occurs when the upper and lower jaws are misaligned. It causes one or more upper teeth to bite on the inside of the lower teeth, and can happen on both the front and sides of the mouth. Left untreated, this issue can cause wear of teeth, gum disease and bone loss.

Overbite
Overbite occurs when the upper teeth bite over the lower teeth. It’s typically caused by genetics, bad oral habits, or overdevelopment of the bone that supports the teeth. This can lead to gum problems or irritation, and/or wear on the lower teeth, and can cause painful jaw and joint problems.

Underbite
The opposite of overbite, underbite occurs when the lower teeth protrude past the upper front teeth. It’s usually caused by the undergrowth of the upper jaw, overgrowth of the lower jaw, or both. It can also be caused by missing upper teeth. This can prevent the normal function of front teeth or molars that can lead to tooth wear. It can also cause painful jaw and joint problems.

What does Invisalign cost?
There are several types of Invisalign treatment (Invisalign I7, Invisalign Lite, Invisalign full and Invisalign teen) and the treatment cost varies depending on the type that you require. In general, Invisalign costs between $4500 and $8500. Once we spend some time with you and assess your particular needs we can give you a more specific indication of your treatment and estimate of costs.
We offer three different types of payment plans for both our Invisalign and general dental patients. Whether you have dental insurance or not, we have a payment plan for you. If you are planning on Invisalign treatment, you can get a 10% discount by paying upfront, alternatively we have payment plans that spread the cost of treatment which start from $95 per week. There’s no problem at Signature Dental, we are happy to see you and arrange a payment plan.
Why come and see us?
At Signature Dental we will sit with you and listen to you – your dental concerns, what you like and don’t like about your smile, what is important and what is not. No two patients are alike and we will work with you to develop a plan for your smile that is designed specifically for you.
At Signature Dental, we are general practitioners, which means we are involved with all aspects of patient care – simple preventive care to keep your great smile staying that way, helping a child understand what they can do today that means they can enjoy the foods they love from now through to their old age, repairing broken down or decayed teeth as needed. I especially enjoy working with patients who want to improve their smile, often they don’t even know what it is that they want to fix, but know that something needs to be sorted out. Being a general dental practice places us in a privileged position to be able to work with our patients on all aspects of dentistry, not just straightening teeth or only whitening a smile, we draw upon all aspects of dentistry to work out what combination of treatments will work best for you and then work with you to attain it. What’s even better is that we team with YOU, our patient for the long-term care of your teeth. We feel honoured and responsible to work with you today and in the decades to come to create a great smile and healthy teeth that stay that way!
